In an effort to keep its customers, Sprint today announced a new Loyalty program called “Sprint Premier”.

After being a loyal customer of Sprint (3 consecutive months), you will automatically be enrolled in “Sprint Premier” and will be able to take advantage of early upgrades (after 1 year with Sprint), also something called “Just Because” where Sprint Premier members can get access to free tickets or trips, yearly gifts to celebrate your anniversary with sprint and more.

Internet Explorer Mobile gets Flash and Javascript support
Sunday, January 11, 2009

The new Internet Explorer Mobile will offer users Flash and Javascript support, so you can easily visit your favorite websites such as YouTube and Flickr with out any major problems.

I tested out the new mobile browser and was really impressed with it, but was a bit disapointed when I asked when I can get it.

It turns out Microsoft will not offer it for Download, and you will most likely have to get it on a new phone. Big Mistake Microsoft!

User Submitted Review: Pantec Matrix
Monday, December 22, 2008

Rachel a visitor to CellRants.com Submitted this Review via Email.

First what drawed me to the Matrix was the Qwerty board and double slider. AT&T promotes that the phone has IM, mobile email and mobile media net. What they don’t tell you is with these three you only get yahoo, aol, and windows live hotmail. Yes you can log on to the internet to any URL and retrieve your mail. I have found that the alerts to let you know you have new mail, does not always happen. It says you can set up media net to get all your other email by setting up POP3. This is only kinda true. You can only set up yahoo, aol, and windows live hotmail. So if you have gmail, microft, or any other provider. YOU WILL NOT GET IT ON THIS PHONE. Now I did not find all this out until after I have had the phone for a week and after spending over 8hrs with customer service and after making a trip to the store and then calling again. Then today I was told I also needed a PDA plan for this phone, which I am not sure is true because it isn’t a PDA.

With that said.....

If your someone who mainly text and IM, this might be the phone for you. The keys are easy to use, phone is easy to get around, and the screen is a great quality.
BUT if you need other email, text while you drive(very difficult with this phone) take alot of pictures(poor quality), like to have a speaker phone(very poor), and hearing who you are talking to(volume is poor), I would go with another phone.

I hope this helps everyone out. I spent countless hrs on the internet trying to figure out why this phone wouldn’t do what it said it would do and what customer service said it would do. I am exchanging mine tomorrow for the blackberry.

Again not a bad phone if you mainly use it for IM and text.

No more $18 Upgrade Fee with T-Mobile
Thursday, December 18, 2008

As of yesterday T-Mobile has stopped charging an 18 dollar upgrade fee for customers who upgrade their phone.

This is obviously an attempt by the company to be more user friendly and honestly I don’t blame them. But I wonder if that 18 dollar fee will be added to the prices of the phones.

I have been told by a friend who works at T-mobile told me that customers who upgraded with in the past 14 days or so, can request a credit. Not sure how true this is so if anyone knows for sure please let me know.

at&t wireless and Pantec announce C630 Handset
Thursday, December 11, 2008

imageToday at&t and Pantec announced the C630, the fourth Pantec phone released for at&t wireless this quarter. I have laterally had the C630 handset fr about 6 hours now and it is like any other Pantec phone, affordable and feature rich and although it has a low price tag but it has a high quality build.

The C630 will retail for $39.99 with a two year contract, it features turn by turn GPS navigation with at&t navigator, bluetooth, 1.3 mega pixels camera, a microSD slot so you can listen to your MP3 on it (headphones sold separately), and video sharing capabilities and works on at&t’s 3G network.

Like I alredy said I have been using the phone for 6 hours and it’s amazing. The phone is one of the smallest I have ever used but the keyboard is large. Normally when you have a small phone the keyboard is also tiny and you often fumble over keys and impress the wrong ones. Not the case with the C630.

The phone is also very snappy, it boots u fast and loads the pre-installed programs like the at&t navigator pretty quickly. The phone also has a little joystick that makes it really easy to navigate the menus, although I wish it stuck out a bit more.

Call quality on the phone is superb, maybe it’s the 3G network but I don’t remember a call on at&t sounding so good, and the speaker phone also has really good quality. Even when listening to music the sound quality from the phone was good.

Browsing the web wasn’t as fun as I had hoped but that had more to do with the screen size than the phones performance. I use a smart phone with a big ol screen so I am kind of use to browsing the web with a bigger screen than the C630 has to offer. But other than that browsing the web was flawless and the at&t 3G network is fast provided you can get a 3G signal.

The phone also has a 1.3 Mega Pixel camera, and the picture quality is decent not the greatest but for a phone it’s decent for taking a quick snap shot and send it to your friends.

My only gripe with the phone is you need headphones with a special connector to listen to music (unless you don’t mind the people around you listening to your music while you walk down the street).

Overall the Phone is great and it is available now from AT&T and it would make a perfect gift for the holidays!  For more info visit http://wireless.att.com

Fonolo available to all
Tuesday, December 09, 2008

Fonolo a great webservice that allows you to “Deep Dial” into a companies menu so that you don’t have to fight your way though the automatedsystem to get to where you want.

I personally have been using the service for 3 months and I love it. I am able to call my airline for example and go straight to Customer Service instead of having to press 1 then 2 then 4 then 1 again to get there.

“We are thrilled to open the doors to the general public in time for the holiday season and offer consumers a better way to reach the hundreds of companies in our database,” said Fonolo CEO Shai Berger. “Two of Fonolo’s most popular categories are travel and consumer electronics, so we expect a great deal of activity during the next month.”

Fonolo’s database currently includes more than 300 North American companies, including airlines, car rental companies, banks, credit card companies, insurance companies and major retailers. And because these companies change their phone menus frequently (“please listen carefully, as our options have changed…”), Fonolo constantly monitors these menus for updates.
