Nokia today unvieled two new handsets that offer a wide range of features and colors aimed at users in emerging markets, which basically means they will only be available in India, China, Brazil, Pakistan, Vietnam and Egypt just to name a few of the countries they will be sold in.
The Nokia 2600 classic and the Nokia 1209 come will retail for 65 and 35 Euros respectfully and will be available in a wide range of colors.
The Nokia 2600 classic will allow consumers to customize their phone with colourful, fully changeable Xpress-on covers and MP3 ring tones. The cheerful Nokia 2600 classic also features a number of entertainment features, including an FM radio and a VGA camera.
The Nokia 1209 include the pre-paid tracker, a cost-tracking application, and the multiple phonebook - which allows up to five people to store personal contact lists of up to two hundred numbers on a single phone. Designed for first time buyers, the Nokia 1209 incorporates Nokia’s intuitive user interface, dust resistance, and offers up to 80 languages. The Nokia 1209 also has a one-piece key mat for durability and reliability.

Nokia is sending us the Nokia 6555 to test out, and hopefully we will get it soon and be able to bring a review to you guys with in a week or two of getting it.
The phone was announced back on August 21st. The phone features an external and internal color screen, mp3 functionality, bluetooth and a camera.
The phone is probably one of the nicest looking phones available, but sometimes pictures can be a bit deceiving.

Today Nokia announced the global shipping of the new Nokia N95 8GB, which is what Nokia calls the N95 multimedia computers Big Brother.
“Our Nokia Nseries family has expanded with added pizzazz and performance with the Nokia N95 8GB, a device as personal as it is powerful,” said Jonas Geust, vice president, Multimedia, at Nokia. “We’ve reached a pinnacle with the Nokia N95 and now with the addition of one of the largest ever displays, built-in Assisted-GPS and improved battery power, the Nokia N95 8GB takes entertainment enjoyment to another level.”
Boasting up to 8 GB of memory, the Nokia N95 8GB has all the features of the N95, including a 5 megapixel, built-in GPS, WLAN, HSDPA and an innovative 2-way slide. The black N95 8GB also boasts a luminous 2.8” (240 x 320) QVGA display, so watching videos, browsing the Internet or viewing maps is a real pleasure. With its expanded memory, the N95 8GB offers up to 20 hours of video or up to 6000 songs (estimated it really depends on the file size of your music).
The phone should be in stores soon, as for which service providers will have them, no official word yet.

Today Nokia expanded its E Series line of phones with the new E51. The E51 is targeted at business professionals and unlike other phones for business users, it doesn’t appear to be as bulky.

Nokia and Microsoft annouced today a new suite of Windows Live Services designed specifically for Nokia Phones.
The Windows Live Services will be available to Nokia S60 and Series 40 platforms using standard web services protocols, Nokia phone users will have the power to seamlessly move between contacts, mail, messenger, phone calls, text messaging, camera, gallery and browsing all in an integrated way.
“By taking advantage of the extensive and agile distribution network that Nokia has, we have the opportunity to bring the power of Windows Live services to Nokia devices, thus ensuring our customers can take their most important online information with them on the go,” said Jari Pasanen, vice-president, Strategy and Technology, Nokia Multimedia
Nokia customers who own the Nokia N73, N76, N80 Internet Edition, N93i, and the N95 multimedia computers can get the Windows Live services via the Download! application in the following countries; Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, UK, Sweden, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Customers can visit http://www.nokia.com/windowslive to learn more, and check if their country is on the availability list. Initially the service will be available as a free trial and then customers in select markets wishing to continue using the service may be asked to pay a monthly fee.

Today Nokia introduced the Nokia 6555 a stylish extremely thin 3G phone loaded with features.
The 6555 has a full color 240x320 screen that delivers crisp images, perfect for picture taking. The built in camera features a 6x zoom.
The phone will be available with in the next month and will retail for about 200 after taxes, no word on what carriers will have the phone.

With a few reports over the past two years of Nokia phones exploding, when an uncertified battery is used, many have begun to wonder if there will ever be a massive cellphone battery recall like there has been for notebook computers.
Well it would seem Nokia has issued such a recall. Nokia has warned that 46 million batteries are at risk of overheating, and have offered free replacements for the batteries.
The affected units are branded BL-5C, which were made by Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. Ltd.between December 2005 and November 2006. Attached is a piture of where you can find the branding.

Today Nokia unveiled the new Prism Collection, phones for consumers who value their sense of style.
Nokia 7900 Prism
Opposite its sleek, liquorice-black front, the Nokia 7900 Prism comes with an anodized aluminium backcover, which is coin-stamped and laser-etched in Nokia Prism’s signature diamond-cut design. Its design is amongst the first to feature an Organic LED main display that supports up to 16 million colors and displays light-focused screensaver graphics. In addition, the Nokia 7900 Prism features a “living wallpaper”, which subtly changes throughout the day according to time as well as battery and signal strength, so that each screen is unique.

Today Nokia announced the availabiliy of the E61i and Nokia E65 which are expected to retail for approximately $400, but actual price will vary by outlet.
