Blackberry Storm for Verizon and Vodafone

imageRIM (Research in Motion) the maker of the Blackberry has announced that the Blackberry Storm a touch screen Blackberry wil be available later this fall from Verizon in the US and Vodafone in Europe, India, Australia and New Zealand.

There is no exact date when Verizon r Vodafone will hae the Storm, but it should be soon.

£11,000 bill for downloading Friends

A women who apparently loves “Friends” the popular sitcom from NBC, downloaded 4 episodes on her husbands cell phone (sounds like something LaIndia would do), while he was traveling across the UK and well let’s just say that the data fee’s were rather high.

So high they were slapped with an £11,000 bill, which is about $21,861.40 USD.

Vodafone gets Nokia 6124 classic exclusively

imageNokia today announced the Nokia 6124 classic exclusively. The new Nokia 6124 classic is a compact multimedia device, offering Vodafone access to a fast 3G network, large 2 inch screen, built in webcam and 8 GB of storage.

“With the Vodafone exclusive Nokia 6124 classic we continue the successful collaboration we started with the exclusive Nokia 6234,” says Jens Schulte-Bockum, Global Director Terminals at Vodafone “We are proud to offer the new Nokia 6124 classic which will allow our customers to access the complete suite of Vodafone communications, browsing, content and Internet services. In addition, the exclusive Nokia 6124 classic offers customers further improvement in their experience with many of Vodafone’s services already launched with leading Internet partners.”

The Nokia 6124 is expected to hit store shelves Q2 2008.

$54,000 Cell Phone Bill

imageLast week we told you about the Canadian who downloaded loads of porn using his cell phones internet plan and was stuck with an $85,000 cell phone bill.

This week we tell you about Ian Simpson who pulled a Homer Simson and ran up a $54,000 bill for downloading tv shows.

Ian had added an internet plan to his phone that was limited to 120 Gigabytes, but he downloaded 20 to 30 TV shows and was charged nearly $35 USD a minute at times.

Vodafone said that Ian was download so much and so fast that by the time the system flagged his account and cut him off he had already run up a massive bill, the company also added that they will work out an arrangement for Ian to help him pay for the bill.
