Numerous friends play attention of phone may have noticed, in 2008 and 2009, the Android system has been taken customers welcome - G1, G2 and G3 is well known. At this time, except for the HTC, that many manufacturers is holding wait-and-see attitude. But, after a period of precipitation and accumulation, many firms take the Android market prospect is good and rapidly launched many new phones, just taken the Android system. Even once the eldest brother - MOTOROLA also issued a high-end machine, which prove the Android system has a large influence in the users and manufacturers. So, if you are a mobile phone user or senior players, or to change to try new things, then the HTC mobile phone is a best choice for you. Now I have narrowed down my choices to HTC HD2 and HTC Touch2 which two of the most popular Android mobile phones.
HTC Touch2 and HTC HD2 are two of the latest touch screen mobiles from HTC, one of the leading manufactures of innovative and stylish mobiles. Both of these handsets come with some useful and innovative applications that can be best suitable for businessmen and professionals.

Design Features
(A) HTC Touch2 is resistive touchscreen and HTC HD2 is capacitive touchscreen mobile. But both are projected very high resolution images with support of 65K colors. While the HTC Touch2 comes with 2.8 inches screen with a resolution of 320 by 240 pixels, the HTC HD2 comes with large 4.3 inches screen with a tremendous resolution of 800 by 480 pixels.
(B) The Touch optimized zoom bar and Touch FLO navigation are the highlights of HTC Touch2. On the other hand, HTC HD2 has accelerometer sensor for auto- rotate, proximity sensor for auto turn-off, ambient light sensor and pick-to-mute a call. Moreover, with a UI as heavy on the visuals and touch interaction as the Sense Experience, you expect a lot from a screen, and the HD2 certainly delivers.

Connectivity Options
1 Both of these handsets with 2G and 3G networking capability ensures wide connectivity options for the users. HTC Touch2 and HTC HD2 have integrated Microsoft Mobile application support and HTC Touch2 is powered by QUALCOMM 528 MHz microprocessor and HTC HD2 has 1GHz Snapdragon processor.
2 The best features included in both these mobiles are 3.5mm audio output jack and GPS navigation facility with A-GPS, which helps the travelers to get all the required information of the locations whenever they require.

Camera Features and Multimedia
HTC Touch2 comes with 3.2 MP camera supported by Fixed Focus, Camera Setting and video recording capabilities. On the contrary, HD2 brings along the camera—a decent 5-megapixel number with a blinding flash and VGA video capabilities—wakes up as fast as you can point its lens, and tapping the home button, no matter how many apps you’ve got toiling in the background, always results in a satisfyingly clean and snappy return to HTC’s ostentatious homescreen.
For providing entertainment to the users HTC Touch2 incorporates music player and video player supporting MP3, MIDI, AMR, WAV, AAC+, eAAC & WMA music files and MPEG4, WMV, ASF, 3GP, 3G2, M4V & AVI video files. Whereas HTC HD2 also has a video player which supports MP4, 3GP, AVI, etc and allows playing music in MP3, WAV, WMA, AAC, AAC+ file formats on its music player. If you don’t have MP4 file or MP3 files, you may try Nidesoft HTC Video Converter which is the first and best video converter for HTC mobile phone Android system. It is professionally designed to help you convert video to HTC formats: MP4, AVI, WMV, H.264, MP3, etc.. With the HTC converter tool, you could play and enjoy movies on your HTC phone any where and any time. As follow is process.
First, Download and install this software!
Step 1: Launch the program and Click “Add File” button to load source video files to be converted

Step 2: make settings: click “format” drop list to select “HTC Android MPEG-4 Video (*.mp4)” as output video format. Set your video size and quality under the preview window.
Step 3: Click “Convert” button to start to convert video format.
After the file is converted, just transfer the file to the videos folder on your HTC mobile and enjoy your newly created video. Another Nidesoft DVD Ripper could rip DVD movies to most popular formats easily and quickly, such as: Rip DVD to MP4, 3GP, iPod/PSP/Zune, MOV, WMV, AVI, etc which HTC mobile phone supports formats. So these tow software is a good assistant for HTC mobile user! In addition, HTC HD2 also embeds FM Radio with RDS while its rival is missing it

Other Attributes
Both of these phones incorporate 512 MB ROM and card slot option besides, Touch2 carries 256 MB RAM while Touch HD2 carries 488 MB RAM. Moreover, GPS with A-GPS support and Pocket Office feature are commonly available on both of these. Exception this, HTC HD2 also adds HTC Peep and HTC Footprints function!

In the end, I make up my decision. The HTC HD2 made the most sense to me as media player and business assistant. But as I’ve noted the HTC Touch2 was also pretty impressive and could be a viable option for many others. In the future, hope the phone manufactures can continually launch better mobile models, and then eventually benefit will belong to our consumers.

Sony Ericsson (News - Alert) has committed itself to delivering products that reduce the overall impact to the environment without compromising on style or features. The UK’s first sustainable rating system for mobile phones, O2’s Eco rating, awarded the Sony Ericsson Elm phone 4.3 out of 5 for its green credentials, and its Elm Phone (News - Alert) has been found to be the most sustainable handset in the market, according to The Daily Mail. The phone is part of Sony Ericsson’s GreenHeart range of mobile phones and accessories.

For the purpose of the rating, six manufacturers were considered. 65 mobile phones were measured for environmental impact, how they help people lead more sustainable lives and ethical performance. Five of the top 10 mobile phones in the rating had been designed by Sony Ericsson. Nokia (News - Alert), HTC, LG, Samsung and Palm all competed alongside Sony Ericsson.
“Sony Ericsson is committed to delivering products with the best possible environmental performance in the industry,” Mats Pellbäck Scharp, head of corporate sustainability at Sony Ericsson, said, adding that they were pleased that the Sony Ericsson Elm phone had passed the tests with flying colors.
Scharp further noted that they fully supported the new O2 (News - Alert) Eco rating system, as such initiatives make it easier for consumers to make informed green choices.
GreenHeart has ambitious plans to green its entire portfolio as it had previously indicated in 2009. Spearheading the company’s commitment to contribute substantively to green innovation, GreenHeart’s ultimate aim is to benefit the environment, the consumers and the mobile operators.
Sony Ericsson has committed itself to reducing CO2 emissions by 20 percent and greenhouse emissions by 15 percent from its mobile phone’s full product life-cycle by 2015. It has joined hands with like-minded organizations to persuade the European Parliament to ban the use of hazardous substances.
Sony Ericsson focuses on all three dimensions of sustainability: environmental, social and economical. Its contributions to society are in the form of conservation of resources, protecting the environment and improving people’s lives and business. Established in October 2001, with global corporate functions located in London and operations in major markets around the world, Sony Ericsson’s strategy is to become the industry leader in mobile Communication Entertainment, through new styles of interaction across the Internet and social media.
In a related news release, two mobiles made from old CD cases and water bottles have been launched by Sony Ericsson, in a move designed to boost the company’s green credentials in the phone industry. The GreenHeart C901 and Naite have all the expected features including a camera, video streaming, Bluetooth, WAP as well as easy access to YouTube (News - Alert) and Google Maps.

Review: Motorola Backflip smartphone

The first thing you’ll notice in the Motorola Backflip is its avant-garde design. Unlike other manufacturers, who usually come up with copies of existing popular brands, Motorola has gone a step forward and given us a design which is a refreshing change.

At first view, the Backflip looks like a communicator. But, if you keep the phone down with the screen facing up, you’ll notice that the Backflip’s keypad forms the base.

When you open up the phone, it just flips open to give you a device which is different and easy to use. But then, this is just one of its new features. When you open the phone, you’ll find a laptop’s trackpad-like feature on the other side of the screen.

What this means is that apart from tapping on the screen you can actually use this trackpad, which they call the Backtrack, to move around and select items by gently tapping on it (we would love all phones to have this feature).

Its 5.0 megapixel camera, with flash, is housed at one end of the keypad. So, when you open the phone, you can as well take some shots of yourself. With such an exceptional hardware, we had expected it to be loaded with the latest version of Android.

Unfortunately, we’ll have to be satisfied with the ancient 1.5 version. So, there’s no pinch-and-zoom facility and no access to some of the wonderful apps from the Android Market.

The welcome feature is its Motoblur which lets you merge contact information from various email accounts with social networking sites. Infact, if you get into Motoblur’s features, you can easily find a host of customisable options which makes this phone’s usage much more fun.

On the performance front, it does seem a bit sluggish, especially the time the screen takes to adjust itself when you open the keypad. The battery life is not bad with our device staying alive for almost one and a half days with heavy usage.

With a price point of Rs 22,990, it sure doesn’t come cheap but the fact that you own a handset which is not a copy of other popular devices and is loaded to the hilt with innovative features is in itself priceless. If Motorola rolls out the latest Android version on the Backflip, it would be a much better buy.

Deal With It, Boss: Workers Want Android, iPhone Devices

The days of the boss dictating which smartphone you’ll use are rapidly drawing to a close. A younger, tech-savvy generation of information workers is calling the shots, and it’s increasingly requesting consumer-friendly Android and iOS (iPhone) devices, according to a new report from market researcher Forrester.

As a result, IT and telecom managers over the next 12 to 18 months will have to revise their client computing strategies to incorporate smartphones from multiple vendors.

“IT managers are shifting away from a one size-fits-all, corporate-liable smartphone model to one that: 1) includes support for at least BlackBerry, iOS, and Android, and 2) is much more open to individually liable devices connecting to corporate resources,” write Forrester analysts Benjamin Gray and Christian Kane.

BlackBerry Still on Top

Forrester interviewed 200 companies for its “Market Overview: Smartphone Management” report, and found that half of the firms have already adopted a multi-platform mobile philosophy. The challenge for IT managers is how to best embrace multiple phones, some of which have lackluster security and management tools.

Not surprisingly, Research In Motion’s BlackBerry devices and BlackBerry Enterprise Server remain the “gold standard” when it comes to management and security. RIM tops its smartphone competitors by providing more than 500 wireless configuration and enforcement policies.

A recent Forrester survey shows that 70 percent of North American and European companies support BlackBerry today. Here’s the breakdown for the rest of the mobile OS pack:

Windows Mobile: 41 percent
iOS (iPhone and iPad): 29 percent
Android: 13 percent
Windows Embedded CE: 13 percent
Palm OS: 12 percent
webOS: 8 percent
Symbian: 7 percent
Despite RIM’s charms, however, enterprises are under pressure to loosen their mobile policies and embrace phones from other vendors.

In fact, nearly 60 percent of firms surveyed by Forrester provide some support of personally-owned smarphones. Why? One reason is that the multi-platform strategy helps businesses attract and retain top talent. In other words, if a top recruit want to use her iPhone for work, well, IT had better make it so.

The challenge for businesses is how to maintain a high level of security while incorporating non-BlackBerry devices. One option is to find “device agnostic” third-party management tools that work with--or ultimately replace--BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

Of course, another challenge is finding talented IT staffers who keep up with the latest security threats on multiple mobile OS platforms, including Android and iOS.

If you love Nokia hardware but wish for a better operating system, consider what some enthusiastic developers have done.

As part of a project called NITDroid, the developers have created a compatible version of Android operating system for Nokia’s internet tablets. The result is a device that has the body of Nokia and the brains of Android.

“Nokia’s hardware is fantastic but their software is sub optimal, slow buggy and not always the best user experience,” says Terrence Eden, a U.K.-based mobile consultant who installed Android 1.6 ‘Donut’ on his Nokia N810. “Android is a much better software environment for Nokia hardware than what Nokia provides.”

Eden’s Nokia-Android hybrid works well except for access to Google Market and apps, he says.

Meanwhile developers have created a stable version of Android 2.2 Froyo for the Nokia N900, which ships with Nokia’s Maemo operating system. They have been able to get calls, data and Google apps going on the hacked device. The only missing feature is camera support.

This is not the first time a phone has been hacked to run an entirely different kind of operating system. Eager to experience Android’s features, some intrepid smartphone users hacked their Windows Mobile phones to run Android.

With Android for Nokia phones, the NITdroid project has had varying degrees of success. So far, they have attempted to port Android for Nokia’s tablet range of devices–which means the Nokia N770, N800, N810, and N900.
