LG Voyager in the mail …..

I am back with a new phone to review and probably the first. My finace got me the voyager and it is suppose to be iPhone rival. I love Apple and the small simplistic icons and options of the iPhone, but with Verizon I am happy. As everyone may already knowm it has the touch face with the utterly brilliant inside flip [identicle to the En “v”’ inside] so when your not “in the mood” for the touch screen you can have the tactile pleasure of pressing buttons once again.

It has two internet options. You can use either the filtered version of the internet to help guide you though fast without the loading lag, or you can have the FULL web page displayed like the iPhone. These both are standard with the phone plan.

Obviously every incentive that Apple gave you to to want to by the iPhone, LG has given you to buy the Voyager.
MP3 player ....
Calender
Weather
Removable memory 8GB
Full web page display
Note pad
World clock
Easy tip calculator

THEN THE THINGS THAT iPhone DOESN’T HAVE

Vibe Touch. It allows you to FEEL a semi vibrate when touching the keys for tactile feedback, which you wouldn’t believe makes so much difference
Dual Speakers
Video—Which also can be sent SMS
SMS picture messaging
Navagation ---->(GPS)<--- whu didn’t Apple think of that? with Parent Chaperone feature.
Mobile IM
TV—with extendable antenna

Also you do have to choose a different phone plan, which becomes nationwide, but prices do not go up. <--- Remember the iPhone plans increased prices

3.5 iPhone screen compared to 2.8 Voyager though. There are obviously pros and cons about both, for me, the Voyager is just all pro’s/
Cingulars reception is second best anyday though, so it’s something I could never miss anyhow.

Nextel Sucks

Hi everyone my name is Indi I am from NY and I have a little rant about Sprint customer service.

A little background about my problem; I had two cell phones both with pre-paid service one to make calls and another was a sidekick where I just checked email and kept in contact with people over IM and if I needed to look something up on the web really fast I’d use it to do that.

The Boost Mobile pre-paid phone I had was not cost effective at all so I decided to switch to Nextel, I really needed the walkie talkie feature that Nextel offers.

Now that you know the background of my story let’s get on with the Rant.

I went to the sprint store and opened a new account and requested that they port my boost number over to Nextel, they told me sure no problem that it should be done with-in a couple of days. They told me they would call me when the number port was complete.

So a week goes by no call from sprint/Nextel and my number hasn’t ported. So I call them.

They feed me the same line that in a few days it should be ported over, another week goes by and I make another call, another week goes by and I make another call another week goes by and I make another call.

Total of 6 weeks. I am busy through-out the day so I really don’t have much time to call them every day I decided to call and wait for an answer.

Boy was that a Mistake. Want to guess how long I was on hold? I hear someone saying 2 hours, no sorry not to hours, someone just said 3 hours no sorry not three, you all give up? It was 8 hours. Yes 8 hours, I was so upset but I wanted to get the matter fixed no matter what, I was transferred from dept. to dept. from clueless rep to clueless rep, from sprint to boost from boost to sprint each saying the other was the culprit I waited 8 hours and I would have waited longer if I had not been transferred and received a sorry our normal business hours are between 9am and 5pm message.

I was furious, I was so angry. I was going to call again the next day and cancel.

The next day before I even called Sprint my phone did not work, no service, I tell Michael my dilemma and he says and I quote “Yo yo yo Let me handle this I got your back yo” well maybe he didn’t say “yo yo yo yo” but he said he would handle it, and he did.

Apparently Sprint was able to port my number over to my phone from Boost, but 16 minutes after they ported it over, they ported it back to boost effectively terminating my service with Sprint.

But he raised hell with them and 2 hours later my phone service was up and working and my number was ported.

Thanks for listening!

HTC Unable to Sync with Servers Not Using Default Server Port Setting

I had a Treo phone and wanted to transition to another phone similiar to the iphone. I received the HTC phone and activated it on 11/27. Being the holiday season, it wasn’t until today, 1/7, that I was able to get the settings to sync with my work email. I have just gotten off the phone after 3 hrs with Sprint regarding syncing with my work mail using a port setting other than the default. To my dismay, I found that this phone can’t be configured to use server ports other than the default. Because I purchased the phone over the holiday, I am 1 week over the 30-day limit.

I have been a loyal Sprint customer for the last 7 years and you would think that they would have some process to address my situation. But all they can tell me is that if I want to return to a Treo that I would have to pay another $500.

What a scam!!!

They are more insterested in getting the money today than in keeping a loyal customer who in the end will get them the money today and tomorrow.

I would say to anyone who is with Sprint that you need to switch. If you are looking for not exceptional but decent service, this is not the company for you.

I am disgusted as to how I’ve been treated and the disregard of their employees in working with me to settle this situation.

To Sprint, you should be ashame. How can you continue when you treat loyal customers as you do—I guess “2008: the year of SprntSpeed” is how fast you can ripe off your customers!
