This goes back about a decade, but first PrimeCo, then Cellular One, and finally Sprint PCS.

Mind sharing how Sprint PCS handled customers in a seperate thread?

Cellular One? Was that one of the companies that eventually became Alltel? I remember Communication 360 or something like that. Cellular One sounds familiar, too.

I’m not really sure. I thought Cellular One in Chicago folded up completely, but maybe it became another carrier. At the time, Cell One and Ameritech were the two big players (in analog, there were A and B carriers, Cell One was A and Ameritech was B). This was several years before digital hit. PrimeCo was the only carrier in the digital market here, and then Cell One started carrying it. Except it wasn’t truly digital.

I think we got our first cell phone around 1991? It was after 89… before 93. We actually still have that first number, too. I know there was someone before 360.

Gee, that was a long time ago.
