So I go and get my self a nice new Razr-I the one with I toons and all that jazz. Well they sales jerk off tells me oh yea you can get in insured and everything I wanted to hear. Well after I pay for my phone, After we get our new plans in place and After there is no turning around I ask him so my phone did get the insurance on it correct? He then tells me err… no your phone is too new to be able to get the insurance.  WTF IS THAT SHIT!. So From the beginning to the end I am clear with him I need insurance on my phone and the fuckwad ignores it just so he can make his commission. This is the type shit that gets your tiers slashed by customers… wtf.

That sucks.

I didn’t know if the phone was too new they didn’t offer insurance.

I mean cingular themselves doesn’t insure it a 3rd party does. They suck whomever they are.

But I never insure because the 5 bucks you pay a month plus the deductable sometimes equals the cost of the phone.

So I have a bootleg escrow account that I dump 15 bucks in every month to replace anything I break or loose.

i don’t know if that statement is necessarily true… but i do know that in most cases insurance is not offered immediately on new and/or expensive phones.. there are select phones that are available for insurance, unless you are a business customer..  it’s all about money, and they (any provider) doesn’t want to insure you for something expensive and end up losing money.  I understand your frustration in this situation.. but it’s almost a case of (1 bad apple spoiling the bunch) because even though you may need this insurance to replace a lost or broken phone, there are peopls (lots actually) that just want to rip off the system, buy a new expensive phone, claim you lost it, get a new one for a $50 deductible and you make a profit.

I can assure you that, that statement is 100% true. Unless he was just trying to be a prick and piss off his customers. I wouldn’t have ever gotten my phone if it did not have insurance because when was the last time you EVER had a phone last you 2 years? I am excellent to my phones but some how almost like clockwork they all die for random reasons. I also know your view mr.cingular guy is that all of your coworkers are honest people but all in all they work off of commission and commission corrupts even the most honest person. This is not the first time I have been fucked over by a employee of your company and I am sure it will not be the last.

Btw next time you call me a liar be sure its on the ground of something that you might be able to back up. Check it out next time you are at work that the Razr-I is not covered.

ok tough guy, first off i didn’t call you a liar, i said your statement was not completely true, and yes i do have grounds to say that as i work for the company and you don’t.  Next, i never once claimed that i believe or even think all my coworkers are honest people, there are bad apples in every bunch, but i can tell you with 100% truth, phone representatives get NO commission what so ever, however store reps do.  So think about that next time you think someone on the phone is trying to make a quick buck off of you by making you buy a new phone, we don’t get anything, no commission, no bonus, not even so much as a pat on the back.  Last, i never said that the Razr-I was or was not covered by insurance, i simply said that most new and/or expensive phones are NOT covered, you may want to go back and check my post just to make sure but i’m 100% positive i never quoted you anything about your razr-I.

I took your first post by interpretation as you calling me a liar strait out. And you are correct I did missread your original post to a degree but I am still pissed about the situation. As you said the phone reps are not commissioned and that I can believe, but the sales personnel are. I got my phone in store from the cingular sales person not a phone rep. I know you never quoted that my razr-I was not covered I just put that there for good measure.

I have come across a similar situation. This is with the Verizon “the V” phone. With the flip up/ full qwerty keyboard. Instead they informed me that my phone DID not have insurance coverage. But after calling about some random issue the representative had informed me that insurance was NOW covering my model phone and they would be happy to help me out with setting up a monthly rate.

Just another praise about Verizon in the ATT forum.
