Has anyone ever done this? Any problems to your phone following the accident? Had to get it repaired?

We had a huge storm here on Weds and I accidently dropped my v635 in the water, it’s a very slippery phone because of its aluminum casing.  I immediately freaked out when it happened, I immediately tried to dry it off.

I was amazed that it is still working and there’s no signs of water damage, the “water damage indicator” doesnt even indicate it was dropped into a puddle either, only problems I’ve noticed were there not long following the incident the signal would go dead once in a while (which was rare), but that only lasted for the evening, and now the buttons have an extra creaking sound added to it, which doesn’t annoy me at all.

I’ve heard of people who had far worse problems with water damage.. damaged screens… not able to start up, etc, so I was lucky

As long as it dry properly you most likely won’t have any issues.

But next time, take it home and put it under a blow dryer ASAP

Or he can just let you talk to it for 5 minutes.  It will dry up quickly.

I splashed mine in the pool 3 days ago. Took it apart and stood it up with the water draining down. I have a white screen inside and out (Verizon EnV) without the ability to recieve incoming or make outgoing calls. I guess I short end of the stick. But broken phone= new phone. I guess there is always sun after the rain.

I don’t have the money for a new phone. Currently the cheapest phone possible with Rogers is $85 with a 3 year contract… no thanks.. they had that phone on their website since when I got this phone 2 years ago.

The phone still works well, the only problem I’ve had is it’s having problems with sending/receiving text messages.. but that might not be a problem related to the water issue, going from sending 25- texts per day to sending 200+ per day could have something to do with it.

Anywho, I should be eligible for a Hardware Upgrade in August, if I have the money I’ll do it. If I get no discount, I’ll go to the customer retentions and say “I’ll gladly pay $200 for the cancellation fee! All of my friends and family are on the other carrier (CDMA) plus I can get a Moto Q from the other carrier for $50, while the phone I want I can get it for $350, so it’s obvious that it’s cheaper for me to cancel now.”

I don’t want a Moto Q, but the phone I want from my current carrier does cost $350 on a 3 yr, while the phone on a 2 yr with at&t;is only $99..

For now it looks like I’ll survive with my current phone, the puddle thankfully didn’t do any noticeable damage
