I’m disappointed with Apple charging iPod Touch users $10 for it’s latest upgrade to the iPhone/iPod Touch operating system. It’s a money-grab in bad faith, at best, and I feel that way for a couple of reasons.

Today when Steve Jobs announced the 200 dollar price cut on the iPhone, I immediately thought wow a lot of people are going to be pissed, and sure enough they were.
I spoke with several people (friends) today about the price cut and 6 of them were angry while the 7th didn’t care because he thought the 600 he paid for his was worth it because he got it the day it came out and I guess he feels there is something glamorous about that, but the other 6 are angry and 2 of them bought their iPhone only 16 to 18 days ago. Two days too late for any cash back.
To see if someone who is just recently out of the 14 day time frame would bable to get their money back, Chris Aarons a former PR guru for AMD went to the 5th ave store in NYC. We asked one of the Apple employees if he could get a refund and the guy said if it was up to me sure why not it’s only a few days over the limit but you have to ask the manager.
So we ask the manager an older guy with man boobs, I say an A or small B cup and he basically said no but he took Chris Aarons business card and swore up and down he would ask the stores GM who would be in at 8 am if they could make an exception. So when Chris Aarons gets or doesn’t get that call tomorrow I will let you all know.
But at the moment it seems that if you bought your iPhone more than 14 days ago you will get no money back, so Steve Jobs recommendation to everyone is just lube up and take it like a man.
However those of you who bought the iPhone less than 30 days ago from an at&t store, take it back to at&t pay the restocking fee and but it all over again, you will get at least some money back that way. Can’t do this at the Apple store as they only have a 14 day return policy on the phone. (we were told you can do this by an apple employee, we haven’t tried as the iPhones and people with iPhones that we know of bought them at Apple stores.)
