Was told that the service issue has been resolved.
I feel for all the Blackberry owners who were in email blackout. If it helps at all, many of us go thru this with our ISPs - we just don’t get the national attention. May you have kicked your heels up while free of email!
I still have a friend with out service, but another with service that comes and goes.
By the way this is what blackberry told users via email
“This is an emergency notification regarding the current BlackBerry Infrastructure outage,” RIM support account manager Bryan Simpson said in an e-mail. The message said the outage affected enterprise clients and “users of the Americas network.”
What’s funny is, if you used your blackberry to check your email you couldn’t get that email.

Research in Motion (RIM) has notified its customers of a major outage on the entire North American Continent. The outage started around noon eastern time and continues as of 7:40 PM EST.
RIM has not said when they expect the service to be back up but if previous outages are an indicator the service may be down for a day or two.
Sprint and AT&T told CNN that the outage started around 3:30 for them, however I have friends with Black Berrys and I was told by them that their service had been down since noon.
