When we get a Bluetooth headset for review, the first thing we always wonder is how big is it and does it fit comfortably in the ear. Over the years I have reviewed a few Bluetooth headsets and while some looked better than others, they sometimes didn’t feel as good in the ear as they looked, and in the end it just ends up being a waste of money because you stop using it as comfort comes before style.
Well with the nx6000 you don’t have to worry about comfort because it is very comfortable, more comfortable than those Motorola headsets you see a lot of people wearing, it also looks good too but it doesn’t end there the nx6000 has a lot of features that many phones with similar price tags lack.
With Bluetooth headsets I sometimes find myself pushing the device into my ear deeper just so I can hear clearly, I don’t know if you do the same but when I am outside walking and talking on the phone and there are cars honking, people talking, jack hammers hammering, police sirens going off, homeless people begging and birds chirping, it’s hard to hear what the person you are talking to is saying, especially in big city like New York City, and that is when I find yourself pushing the headset deeper into my ear as if that will help you hear them better.
However with the nx6000 I did not have that problem, I could hear everyone around me loud and clear without having to jam the device deeper into my ear. The NX6000 has something called FrontWave technology, this technology processes the sound of the person you’re talking to and delivers it clearly to you. The FrontWave technology combined with the in ear design of the headset delivers the clearest sound I have ever heard from a Bluetooth headset. You literally hear everything that is said to you with no straining what so ever and even the noise of the room they are in, I don’t recall once asking someone to repeat anything while I used the nx6000.
We now know the nx6000 delivers great sound to your ear, but does it deliver your voice clearly to the person you are talking too?
The nx6000 has dual mics that isolates your voice and a noise cancelation system that works wonders. I tested the nx6000 by having various conversations on the subway, in a car with an open window and wind blowing in my face, on the streets of New York City, and never did anyone complain that they could not hear me or there was too much noise behind me, and I was around ground Zero a lot of construction going on there.
The nx6000 passed with flying colors in sound quality, and it won’t disappoint you if you end up with one.
One really cool feature about the nx6000 that I enjoyed is being able to pair it with multiple devices, I carry 2 to 5 phones (most are review units) and I like being able to test those phones and still have my personal phone paired to the headset incase I need to use it. It is also the easiest Bluetooth device to set up, just turn it on and that’s it, no need to enable a special pairing option the first time you turn it on it automatically goes into pairing mode.
For those curious I was able to get nearly seven hours of talk time.
Overall the nx6000 rocks best headset I have ever had the pleasure of using, most comfortable too. For that we award Gennum and the nx6000 our Best of the Best Bluetooth Headset Award. (Currently being designed by our Graphics Guys)
The nx6000 retails for $149.99 but can be found on buy.com for 120.99. For more info visit : http://www.nxzen.com/headsets/nx6000_1.php
