Ringtones bring in millions of dollars to the Music Industry and Cell Phone providers each year, and we here at CellRants.com believe that they are over charging for Ringtones, after-all you can buy an entire song for 89 cents but a ringtone cost 2.00 and up.
The high price of ringtones are burning a hole in the pocket of a lot of cell phone users, so what can we do to make up for some of that money we spend on Ringtones? Well, we can take advantage of our service provider’s policies.
In a conversation with this customer service rep who wishes to remain anonymous, we were told that if you purchase a ringtone, wallpaper, game or any service from Cingular (at&t) via their CingularExtras.com site, you are allowed 2 to 3 uncontested automatic refunds each month, and that the majority of all refund request after your first 2 are approved in 24 hours or less.
She told us that an at&t Cingular subscriber only has to login to their direct bill account and request the refund there.
The process is as simple as clicking a “request refund” button. You do not need to delete the content from your phone and no charge will appear on your bill.
We did not try this to see if it indeed works, but we did speak to a second Cingular rep who confirmed that it does.
Personally we think if you do this it is stealing, but we won’t let our morals interfere with yours, if you chose to do this.
If anyone tries this, or if any other Cingular Reps wish to confirm this, please do.
