Sprint and Nextel merged in August of 2005. The two companies are now known as Sprint Nextel and not Sprint and Nextel.

Currently Nextel operates as a sub division of Sprint, and the main focus of Nextel is busines and military customers. Nextel only uses iDEN Motorola phones for their service, and currenly offers the best Push to Talk service in the US.

Sprint offers CDMA service and EVDO high-speed wireless internet.
